The Hoya Fusion Antistatic Next UV filter is particularly suitable for use in dirty or dusty environments. Unlike conventional filters that require frequent cleaning in such environments to avoid ruining your shots with dirt in front of the optics, the Antistatic filter requires far less maintenance. Of course, even with these filters, cleaning cannot be completely avoided, but it can be kept to a minimum. In this way, the photographer or filmmaker reduces the risk of the filter surface being scratched by the finest dust or dirt particles, which can often hardly be avoided by frequent cleaning in such environments. The hardened, antistatic surface also repels water and rain and can be easily and gently cleaned of dirt stains and fingerprints as needed.
